GENERAL OVERVIEW :-
Deep Drawing Process is used to Transform the Plain Metal Sheet to the Another shape which is as per the punch . In This Sheet metal Forming process Sheet metal Blank is first clamped then Drawn Radially into the Forming Die by the movement of the Punch Through Hydraulic Cylinders . It is Just a transformation process through material retention . This whole process is considered as Deep Drawing when the depth of the drawn material exceeds diameter . This is achieved by the redrawing the part through series of Dies .
The Flange Region which is in the die shoulder area experiences radial stresses due to which tangential stresses are developed because of material retention property . These compressisive stresses are called Hoop Stresses which result in flange wrinkles . and the same can be avoided by using Blank Holders , which will control the material flow into the die radius
